Poetical miscellany of Theophilus Alye, 1679-1716.

Includes numerous contributions by others, especially Thomas Dineley of Dilwyn, Herefordshire, and, apparently, Martin Johnson, vicar of Dilwyn. There are epitaphs (some with sketches of arms, and emblems, leaves 16v, 17, 21, 27, 28), mottoes and poems, many by M.J. The epitaph on Shakespeare in Stratford parish church (leaf 72) is entered by Robert Dobyns who transcribed it on a visit in 1673. Several of Dineley's entries are illustrated. Also includes copies of records relating chiefly to the diocese of Hereford, with lists of livings and details of income and its sources, as well as certain accounts, ca. 1716. Dedicated to Sir John Scudamore, Bart.
